Argentine Tango Los Ocampo Guest Coaches.

Omar and monica are a world renewed professional tango couple, dancers of a great scenic presence, world famous teachers and choreographers: Mónica Romero & Omar Ocampo joined their individual experiences and began dancing together in 1984. They have integrated the show of the master MARIANO MORES for many years where Omar Ocampo is the choreographer of some acts of this show. He makes the famous act of “the STRIP-TEASE” (transformation of the argentine gaucho to the “compadrito”, created by master “CHÚCARO” especially for Omar). They have traveled together with Mariano Mores through Europe several years.

In 1986 they led and danced for one year in the show created by JUAN CARLOS COPES: “The Copes Tango Show” in Puerto Rico, with big success.

They performed in several well known tango show houses and hotels in Buenos Aires, such as “El Viejo Almacén“, “Michelángelo”and “Sheraton Hotel”, with their own Tango and Folklore dance company.

In 1994, “LOS OCAMPO” were selected to integrate the show “TANGO PASION” by MEL HOWARD, with the prestigious tango sextet “SEXTETO MAYOR”, with performances at the most famous theatres in the world such as “The Herodian Acrópolis “ of Athens,“Theatre Sistine” of Rome, “Le Strade Louis II” of Montecarlo, “The Kremlim” in Moscow, ”Theatre des Champs Elysèes “ of Paris, “ National Theatre” of Taiwan and “Coconut Grove Theatre” in Miami among others.

They toured around the world with Sexteto Mayor from 1994 to 2004. “LOS OCAMPO” have won an international reputation through the years. They usually participate at International tango festivals, teaching workshops and doing tango and folklore exhibitions. When they are not on stage, they enjoy teaching tango and folklore.

Los Ocampo belong to the permanent staff of the Jury at Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup.
They were one the first teachers to introduce the traditional Argentine folk dances in Europe: Zamba, Chacarera and Malambo.

They have created various shows, one of the best being: “GAUCHO’S” , a mix of traditional and modern music and pure Argentine folklore dance.
